跟        

gēn              

means “to like, seems” .It is the spoken language of  “像”.

 

他累得跟狗一样。

tā lèide gēn gŏu yíyàng 。

He was tired like a dog.

 

他跟忘了我一样。

tā gēn wàngle wŏ yíyàng 。

He seems to forgot me.

 

遍           

biàn            

means “all , all over”, V+遍. In most of the cases we use “所有”after “遍”to emphasize the situation.

 

我吃遍了所有的水果。

wŏ chī biàn le suŏyŏu de shuĭguŏ 。 

I have eaten all kinds of fruits.

 

我走遍了中国所有的城市。

wŏ zŏubiàn le zhōngguó suŏ yŏu de chéngshì 。 

I have been to all the cities all over in China.

 

就算            

jiù suàn                

means “even if”, often followed by “也”.

 

就算没有钱也要吃饭。

jiùsuàn méiyŏuqián yĕ yào chīfàn 。

You still have to eat even without money.

 

就算是孩子也知道这个道理。

jiùsuàn shì háizi yĕ zhīdào zhè ge dàolǐ 。 

Even children know the truth.

 

怎么....这么...        

zĕn me .... zhè me ...

Express the mood of rhetorical question. Meaning how can sth/sb be….

 

他怎么可以这么做?

tā zĕnme kĕyĭ zhème zuò ?

How could he do that?

 

她怎么这么漂亮!

tā zĕnme zhème piàoliang !

How can she be so beautiful?

 

以为            

yĭ wéi                

means “ think, believe”.It is used only when it is mistakenly believed.

 

我以为你是中国人。

wŏ yĭwéi nĭ shì zhōngguórén 。 

I thought you were Chinese. (Now I know that he is not Chinese.)

 

“以为”      also can be used in a rhetorical question.

 

你以为你是谁?

nĭ yĭwéi nĭ shì shéi ?

Who do you think you are?
