否则  

fŏu zé  

has similar uses as 要不然  yào bù rán  , it means “otherwise”. However 否则  fŏu zé  is more formal than   要不然  yào bù rán, it is often used in a serious situation.

 

今天你一定要做完你的工作,否则明天就不用来上班了。

jīntiān nĭ yídìngyào zuòwán nĭde gōngzuò , fŏuzé míngtiān jiù búyòng lái shàngbān le 。

You must finish your work today, otherwise you don’t need to come to work tomorrow.

 

你快走吧,否则上学会迟到的。

nĭ kuàizŏu ba , fŏuzé shàngxué huì chídào de 。

Hurry up, otherwise you will be late!

 

 

哪怕    

nǎ pà    

means "even if," and has a slightly stronger tone than 即使  jí shĭ and 就算  jiù suàn   It is therefore often used to disregard hypothetical statements of a more serious nature. It is normally used with 也  yĕ  . Some forms of the pattern also use 再  zài  .

 

哪怕你给她一个苹果,她也会很高兴的。

năpà nĭ gĕi tā yígè píngguŏ , tā yĕhuì hĕngāoxìng de 。

Even if you give her an apple, it will make her very happy.

 

哪怕他很有钱,我也不要和他在一起。

năpà tā hĕnyŏuqián , wŏyĕ búyào hétā zàiyìqĭ 。

Even if he is very rich, I still don’t want to be with him.

 

 

verb+ 不了  

bù le /得了dé le   

This is used to talk about whether you are able to do something or not." It is subtly different from using 不能  bù néng  , because 不了  bù liăo   usually suggests some external factor being out of one's control.

 

今天晚上我有事,去不了她的生日会了。

jīntiān wănshang wŏ yŏushì , qùbùliăo tāde shēngrìhuì le 。

I have something to do this evening, I can’t go to her birthday party.

 

你每天很晚回家,免不了你的太太会生气。

nĭ mĕitiān hĕnwăn huíjiā , miănbùliăo nĭde tàitai huì shēngqì 。

You go home very late every night, your wife is bound to be angry.

 

 

谁 都   

shéi dōu  

is a pattern used to express "everyone" (or possibly "anyone") in Chinese.

 

谁都喜欢美女。

shéi dōu xĭhuan mĕinǚ 。

Everyone likes pretty girls.

 

她谁都不想见!

tā shéi dōu bùxiăngjiàn !

She doesn’t want to see anybody!

 

 

不就   

bù jiù  

is a link word between the hypothesis and the causal relationship is emphasized, which means if there is a cause , there will be a result.

 

今天多做点儿,明天的工作不就少了吗?

jīntiān duō zuòdiănr , míngtiān de gōngzuò bújiù shăole ma ?

If you work more today, then you will work less tomorrow.

 

给你的太太买个礼物,她不就高兴了。

gĕi nĭde tàitai măigè lĭwù , tā bújiù gāoxìng le 。

Buy a gift for your wife and she will be happy!

 

 

“有  yŏu ….才有  cái yŏu …”

expresses the first part is the necessary (under many situations, also sufficient) condition to the second part.

 

有家才有爱。

yŏujiā cáiyŏuài 。

Only is there a family, there is love.

 

有她的帮助,才有这个公司。

yŏutā de bāngzhù , cáiyŏu zhège gōngsī 。

Only with her help, can you have this company.
