Reduplication of verbs
In Chinese, verbs can be reduplicated to indicate the action happened briefly or casually .
Wǒ suíbiàn kàn kàn.
I’m just browsing.
Wǒ zài shì shì xiǎo hào de xiézi.
I’ll try the smaller shoes.
Ask one’s opinion by using怎么样
Wǒmen qù xuéxiào xué zhōngwén, zěnme yàng?
How about learning Chinese in a school?
Wǒmen qù chī zhōngguó cài, zěnme yàng?
How about having Chinese food?
Express “also” by using 还
We have already known that还 can be used as “still”. Another way of using this adverb is with 有 meaning “and also”, or “also have”.
Zhè'er hái yǒu yīshuāng xiézi.
There is another pair of shoes here.
Xuéxiào li yǒu xuéshēng, hái yǒu lǎoshī.
There are students and teachers in schools.
