被            bèi 

Sentences, which are called 被字句 (bèi zì jù) in Chinese, are a key way to express the passive in modern Mandarin Chinese. In passive sentences, the object of an action becomes the subject of the sentence, and what would have been the subject of the normal (active voice) sentence, the "doer" of the action, becomes secondary, and may or may not be included in the passive sentence.

 

 

我们的国家被日本人占领了。

她被这个男人无情地抛弃了。

按照        àn  zhào      

means “according to “or “to follow”.

 

我按照你们的安排工作。

下来        xià lai          

It is used as a verb complement to express finish or done something.

 

马拉松跑下来需要5个小时。

这个公司一年的收入算下来还不到十万。
