Rachel:Wendy

Wendy:

Wendy:Rachel

English

Rachel: How many apps are there in your phone?

Wendy: Well, there are a lot of apps. I haven’t counted them before. There are dozens of them.

Rachel: Well, that's right. It's not just us. All Chinese mobile phones have a lot of apps. In China, we call these application software “APP”. Wendy , what are the interesting apps in your phone?

Wendy: Well, today, I will introduce you several apps I use. Last time, I have already introduced to you that the most commonly used APP in China is “WeChat”. In addition, I also like to use “Taobao” to shop. “Taobao” is China’s “Alibaba”. Most Chinese people like to use "Taobao" to shop online. You can buy almost everything you want to buy here.

Rachel: In addition to "Taobao", I recently discovered a new application called "Pinduoduo." You can buy good and cheap things in "Pinduoduo", but you need to be together with a friend or relatives (for buying things) to enjoy the preferential price.

Wendy: Rachel, what application do you like to entertain yourself?

Rachel: Usually I listen to songs using "QQ Music", which is a company owned by Tencent. I watch movies, videos, and variety shows by using "Youku". This app is a bit like YouTube abroad with lots of good-looking videos on it. I also have a particularly fun app called "National Karaoke songs". We can sing with this app. The sound quality of this app is very good. You can also record the song you sing. After singing, you can also share it with our friends on WeChat!

Wendy: Yes, there are a lot of apps for learning in my mobile phone. For example, this “Himalayan” is an app for listening to podcasts. With it, I can listen to many audiobooks, podcasts and interesting programs for free. In addition, I also have a special favorite app called "Get". In this app, there are many top teachers from different countries and their audio courses, where you can study finance, Chinese and Western philosophy, psychology, sociology, history, literature, etc. The level of teachers is very high.

Rachel: Yes, I also use these two apps frequently to learn. Finally, I want to introduce you everal social applications that are very popular in China. The first one is “Weibo”. This app is very similar to the foreign instergram. Many people here are sharing articles, photos, videos, etc. It is also the earliest social media in China. "Douyin" is a short video app that is currently very hot in China. There are many young people who shoot their own videos on it, and many people watch it. The last social application is called "Tantan," which is much like a foreign tinder. You can use it to meet new friends, look for a mate, date with someone and so on. It is a very popular dating software.

Wendy: Well, do you have these apps in your phone? What is your favorite app?
